Playoffs Begin Now

The Pack got flexed. We are now a prime time game, which makes this the first game I will be able to see on my very own TV. As we all know, this years Packers are no where near as talented as the 1989 Packers, but they have some of the majik that they had then. This weeks game is their big test, one that they have failed many times this season when they have tried to step up. If they win, they have a good chance at playing in the post season. If they lose, suddenly we are looking at next year.

At least we are in this position. You could be a Vikings fan, watching your team continue to spin downward season after season, wondering why your team wears purple, and why you continue to support such a sad sack organization. Or the Lions, they don't count I guess. Who ever heard of a Lion fan? Or those loveable Bears.

We'll see you Sunday Bears, and no matter what the outcome is, I'll be waiting for your post season fall with bells on.

As this season winds down--it’s amazing to think about the things that have happened, and where our favorite teams are right now. There was no way that it seemed the Packers could still be alive for a playoff berth, while the Vikings are going through the motions.
Amazingly enough--a Viking win could help the Packers...I guess we all know what THAT means.

THE VIKINGS STILL HELD FAINT PLAYOFF HOPES
AS THEY TOOK LAMBEAU FIELD LAST THURSDAY NIGHT
THEY WERE LOOKING AHEAD TO WHO'D THEY BE PLAYING
AFTER BEATING THE PACKERS THAT NIGHT

THOSE PACKERS WEREN'T THINKING OF A PLAYOFF CHANCE
BUT WERE FOCUSED ON MINNESOTA'S VIKINGS
AS THEY TOOK THE FIELD IN THE COLD AND RAIN
CONDITIONS THAT REALLY WERE TO GREEN BAY'S LIKING

IN WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN BRETT'S LAST HOME GAME
JUST BEATING THE VIKINGS WOULD BE ENOUGH
FOR DESPITE WINNING THEIR LAST TWO GAMES
GREEN BAY KNEW THEY WEREN'T ALL THAT TOUGH

BRAD CHILDRESS HAD BENCHED BRAD JOHNSON
AND TARVARIS JACKSON WAS GETTING THE START
VIKINGS FANS WERE CONVINCED HE'D BE THE KEY
TO RESTORING MINNESOTA'S FIRE AND HEART

CHILDRESS EVEN CAME UP WITH SOME WRINKLES
DESIGNED TO HELP HIS ROOKIE QUARTERBACK
MOSTLY HE'D TAKE THE SNAP, MAKE HIS DROP
COUNT TO FIVE AND THEN GET SACKED

THE PACKERS RUINED THE DEBUT OF 'TJACK'
PUTTING THE VIKES' OFFENSE INTO REVERSE
AND AS POORLY AS GREEN BAY MOVED THE BALL
THE MINNESOTA TEAM WAS EVEN WORSE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WITH THE VIKES' POSTSEASON HOPES IN THE GUTTER
THEY ARE JUST GOING TO PLAY OUT THE STRING
TOO BAD THEY MUST FACE THE ST LOUIS RAMS
AND ALL OF THE PROBLEMS THEY BRING
FOR THE ONE THING THE RAMS LOVE DOING MOST
IS THE THING THE VIKINGS CAN'T STOP
THEY WON'T WASTE MUCH TIME TRYING TO RUN
BUT WILL QUICKLY PUT THE FOOTBALL UP TOP
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BY THE TIME THE PACK PLAYS THE BEARS AT SOLDIER FIELD
THEY'LL KNOW IF ANY PLAYOFF CHANCES REMAIN
BUT AFTER CHICAGO SHUT THEM OUT IN THE OPENER
THOUGHTS OF REVENGE WILL BE IN EACH PLAYER'S BRAIN

THE BEARS HAVEN'T DOMINATED AS EASILY
IN THE GAMES OF THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS
AND A CHANCE TO CLOSE OUT BY BEATING THE BEARS
WILL PROVIDE THE MOTIVATION THAT ALL COACHES SEEK
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE VIKINGS WOULD HAVE TO STOP THE RAMS' PASSES
IF THEY WERE TO HAVE A CHANCE IN THIS GAME
GREEN BAY HAS OUTPERFORMED EXPECTATIONS
THIS WEEK MAY WELL TURN OUT THE SAME
Green Bay beat the Minnesota Vikings 9-7
